This course aims to meet the increasing need for engineers who can contribute to both the hardware and software design and electronic system. UIET graduates now work in areas including computer networks, embedded system, digital control systems for automobiles, telecommunications and cable TV systems, video games hardware, microprocessor chip design and multimedia, only to name a few.
UIET has particularly strong links with professionals in the IT industry and the courses offered have a strong professional orientation. Through “Education Plus” the courses are updated and/or supplemented at regular interval to ensure that they remain relevant and continue to meet current needs and anticipate the future requirements of industry and commerce.

Internal Assessment Marks in UG and PG Courses
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT MARKS IN UG AND PG COURSES
Considered the recommendations of the Academic Council made vide Reso. No. 39 of its meeting
held on September 22, 2009, based on the recommendations of the Committee constituted by the
Vice-Chancellor that w.e.f. the Session 2009-10, the following mechanism be adopted for award
of Internal Assessment marks in the UG and PG Courses.
(i) The criteria for Internal Assessment of 10 Marks or 10% marks in theory papers for
regular students already prescribed for UG courses (Annual) will remain the same and
will also be made applicable to B.Sc./B.Com (Pass & Hons.) Classes Semester System
from the Session 2009-10.
(ii) For P.G. Courses i.e. M.A./M.Sc./M.Com (Semester System) being run in the University
Teaching Departments, P.G. Regional Centre, Rewari and Affiliated Colleges, the criteria
for award of Internal Assessment of 20% marks in theory papers for regular students may
be prescribed from the Session 2009-10 as under:-
1. One Class Test 10 Marks
2. One Assessment and Presentation 5 Marks
3. Attendance 5 Marks
Less than 65% 0 Marks
65% to 70% 2 Marks
71% to 75% 3 Marks
76% to 80% 4 Marks
Above 80% 5 Marks
If a candidate is awarded Internal Assessment of more than 75%, the concerned teacher
will give specific justification for the same which shall be considered by a committee to
be constituted by the concerned Head of the University Teaching Department/Principal of
the College as the case may be.
Notification of Special Chance

NOTIFICATION
It is notified for the information of all concerned that the Vice-Chancellor, in
anticipation of the approval of the Academic Council, has been pleased to allow
special chance to such students as have availed their last admissible chance in the
year 2000 and onwards, as under:-
i) For improvement of result / score in the courses where the provision
of improvement exists. The students may appear in one or more
theory paper(s) as explained in the relevant Ordinance.
ii) For clearing the re-appear compartment paper(s) only in the cases
where the students have not been able to clear the same within the
stipulated chances.
iii) The special chance will not be applicable in the case of students of
MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BHMS Courses.
iv) The students will have to appear according to the latest syllabus
applicable for the session 2009-10. However, where the nomenclature
of the Subject / Paper stands changed, the candidate will be allowed
to appear as per old syllabus (subject to availability of syllabus).
v) The special chance will not entail any candidate to fresh admission
and it will be applicable to only ex-students.
The examination fee for this special chance is prescribed as under:-
i) UG Courses Rs.3000/- (each exam. form)
ii) PG Courses Rs.4,000/-(each exam. form)
iii) All Professional Courses Rs.8,000/-(each exam. form)
Accordingly the schedule of examination for the above said candidates is

In partial modification of earlier notification issued vide no. MDU/R-I/09/59342-
441 dated 22-10-2009, it is hereby notified for information of all concerned that:-
i) The examination fee for the special chance has been revised as under:-
a) UG Courses Rs. 2000/- (each exam. form)
b) PG Courses Rs. 3000/- (each exam. form)
c) All Professional Courses Rs. 7000/- (each exam. from)
ii) The facility of availing the special chance has been extended to all those
students who availed their last admissible chance in the year 1998 onwards.
iii) The last date for submission of examination forms for annual system
examination to be held in April/May, 2010 has been extended upto 7-12-2009.
iv) The other details will remain the same.
