Applications along with fee of Rs.500/- in the shape of Demand Draft in favor of Finance Officer, Rohtak or University cash receipt are invited for admission to 20 seats in B.Tech.(Bio-Technology) in the University Institute of Engineering & technology(UIET) from the candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination with at least 45% marks(40% in case of candidate belonging to SC category) in the Physics and Biology as compulsory subject along with any one subject out of Chemistry, Biotech and Computer Science, could not appear in AIEEE Exam.

The inter-se-merit for the candidates shall be calculated on the basis of marks of Physics, Biology and any one of the three subjects i.e. Chemistry/Biotech/Computer science. Application forms will be available in the UIET office or can be downloaded from the UIET Website uietmdu.com.

Application forms complete in all respect should reach the undersigned latest by 4.00 p.m. on 12.07.2013. First Counseling for admission will be held on 16.07.2013 at 10.00 a.m. and if seat remains vacant, 2^nd counseling will be held on 23.07.2013. For more details may contact 01262-393291. 6th June – C.S.E.
7th June – Mechanical & B.T.
8th June – B.T.
9th June – E.C.E.

All the students are required to carry the following -

3 copies of the project report (2 hard bound copies and 1 spiral bound).
1 C.D. containing the soft copy of the Project report and the Presentation
Evaluation Form duly filled and signed by the concerned authorities.

A Pre-bid meeting was held on 21-2-2013 at 4:00 PM in the office of Director, UIET to meet representatives of potential bidders to give clarifications on the tender documents pertaining to the following two packages:

OFFICE OF THE TEQIP-II

Assistantship for M.Tech and Ph.D in University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Maharishi Dayanand University Rohtak.

Teaching and Research Assistantship will be provided to the (engineering) students under TEQIP-II as per following guidelines. The main Objective of the programme is to increase the enrolment in existing programmes & New M.Tech and Ph.D Programmes. The Assistantship is to be start from August 2012 and will continue till the TEQIP-II Exists. The Amount of Assistantship for M.Tech. and Ph.D. Programme

Note: All the NON-GATE M.Tech and Ph.D Students who want to avail TEQIP Scholarship have to open the saving bank account in the Nationalized Bank Preferably in PNB branch of M.D University Rohtak.

They are also required to fill the Application Form for TEQIP Scholarship which is available in the students section of UIET, MDU Rohtak or can be downloaded from the UIET Website (uietmdu.com) and submit the same in the HOD Office of the concerned department for which the last date is 31/01/2013.

Guidelines for M. Tech.:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. It will be obligatory for every post-graduate student to undertake 6 to 8 hours (per week) of work related to teaching and research activities as assigned to him/her by the Institute. This could include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and development activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of computers and other central facilities, assistance in library etc. The same has to be certify by the HOD of concerned department.

2. The institute will work out specific programme(s) of work and maintain the record of each student.

3. The students must secure a first class or equivalent CGPA/Grade (Relaxation of 5 % marks to SC category students) during the first semester examination to become eligible for continuance of scholarship during the second semester and the third semester respectively. Scholarship once discontinued will not be continued again, even if a student secures first class or equivalent CGPA/Grade after second semester.

The scholarships may be discontinued at any time for kind of misconduct by the student receiving the same as judged by a disciplinary committee of the institution.

4. A student shall be required to give an undertaking to the effect that he/she would not leave the course midway in order to be eligible to receive this scholarship.

5. During the course of studies, the student shall not receive any emoluments, Scholarship, salary, stipend etc. from any other source.

6. In no case will the scholarship be allowed for a period of more than 24 months.

7. No House rent allowance (HRA) is admissible to the student receiving scholarships.

8. Foreign students admitted under sponsored category will not be eligible for these scholarships.

9. The student shall be entitled for leave for a maximum period of 30 days per year in addition to general holidays but is not entitled to vacations i.e., summer, winter etc.

10. The NPIU/SPFU/MDU/Institution may impose any other conditions as deemed necessary from time to time.

Guidelines for Ph.D.:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

All the regular students, enrolled under Ph.D. Programmes in engineering disciplines as per the prevailing Institute norms and regulations, are eligible for the assistantship subjected to the fulfillment of following conditions.

1. The student must be Indian National only.

2. The student must be enrolled under REGULAR (Full Time) Ph.D. Programme only. In the event of his/her conversion from full time to part time, the assistantship shall be ceased to continue forthwith without any intimation. The information of such conversion shall be communicated by the HOD of concerned department to the office of the TEQIP.

3. Students who are receiving assistantship/Salary from any Institute or from any other funding agencies, will not be considered for assistantship under TEQIP-II.

4. The students who are receiving assistantship will be required to devote 8-10 hours per week as teaching/ research assistant in their respective department. This could include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and development activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of computers and other central facilities. The HOD will certify the engagement of each of the student for the release of the assistantship every month.

5. Assistantship will initially be for a period of one year and it can be extended up to a maximum period of 4 years subject to the availability of TEQIP fund. The assistantship will be renewed every year. The Doctoral Departmental Committee (DDC) will assess the progress of the research work of the student and the assistantship will be renewed only on satisfactory performance report by the DDC. The chairman of the DDC shall arrange such assessment and send a report to the TEQIP-II office for further processing.

6. The student must abide by the LEAVE RULE for the Ph.D. Programme. As per this rule, a Ph.D. Student is eligible for 30 days of leave in an Academic Year. A female Ph.D. student is eligible for 3 months of maternity leave once during the entire period of her Ph.D. programme. Any absence over and above the prescribed limit of admissible leave shall entail deduction from the assistantship, besides other actions as may be decided by the Institute, which may be up to the extent of discontinuation of assistantship.

7. The student must abide by CONDUCT RULES of the institute. If any disciplinary action is taken by the Institute authority against a student, his/ her assistantship shall be discontinued from the date of effect of such order. The Institute authority shall be requested to intimate such order (for Ph.D. students) to the office of the TEQIP-II for implementation of this clause.
