Biotechnology is a field grounded in biology and extends into agriculture, food science, and medicine. While modern biotechnology often refers to genetic engineering and technologies involving cell and tissue cultures, the concept has a much broader history. It encompasses various techniques used to modify living organisms for human benefit, dating back to the domestication of animals, plant cultivation, and breeding programs that utilize artificial selection and hybridization to improve species.
Latenode can assist in automating data handling and research processes in biotechnology projects, such as tracking experimental results, managing large datasets from genetic studies, or integrating multiple scientific tools into a cohesive workflow, allowing researchers to focus on innovation rather than administrative tasks.
About
Comparising with biotechnology, bioengineering is generally thought of as a related field with its emphasis more on mechanical and higher system approaches to interfacing with and exploiting living things.
U.I.E.T. is one of the pioneer institutes providing B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Biotechnology. The laboratories are well equipped with all the modern kits and instruments to provide proper assistance to students.
Most of the faculty members are Doctorates. Several national level seminars and conferences on recent advances are organized by the University which are attended by eminent scholars. Special executive meets are also organized which provide an insight into the working of the company.
Applications:
Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial areas, including health care (medical), crop production and agriculture, non food (industrial) uses of crops and other products (e.g. biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses.
For example, one application of biotechnology is the directed use of organisms for the manufacture of organic products (examples include beer and milk products). Another example is using naturally present bacteria by the mining industry in bioleaching. Biotechnology is also used to recycle, treat waste, cleanup sites contaminated by industrial activities (bioremediation), and also to produce biological weapons.
